A Formal Weekend

Both Jared and Abby had a formal this weekend. Abby had her Winter Formal at school, and Jared's Terps Club had a Masquerade Ball. He took his girlfriend, Taylor. After picking her up,he brought her by the house so Abby (and I) could get some pictures of them. That made this mama very happy. This picture is from my phone.(I'll send the ones Abby took with her camera once they are downloaded.They are undoubtedly going to be better than mine!)

The Sleepover

For Abby's 14th birthday, she had 5 friends come over to spend the night. What did they do? There was lots of laughter (along with pizza and cookie cake)....

There were gifts to open...

And,of course, there were cell phones!

Model United Nations

Abby participated in Model UN this past week. She spent hours working on her collage. She was disappointed that her collage did not even place but she did win 1st for her committee. We thought her collage and her resolution were both impressive! On the negative side, (which is where she likes to focus), she was put in a group where she was the only 8th grader and her assigned country was Canada. This gave her quite a few challenges and played a part in her overall success at the competition. On the positive side, she got to go to SFA where they have an amazing food court, get Starbucks two days in a row, and end her second day with an Icee that she didn't have to pay for.
